Harold Baker recognized for invaluable contributions to emergency services management

CARY, NC, August 31, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harold M. Baker, a retired State Director formerly of the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in emergency management.

A former State Director for the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency, Harold M. Baker was named Cambridge Publishing's Professional of the Year 2010 in recognition of his commitment to emergency services management. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Baker was charged with overseeing all emergency services for the Virgin Islands. His resume boasts such positions as Auxiliary Captain for the Virgin Island Police Department and Mr. Baker was honored with the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal during his prodigious Air Force career.

Mr. Baker is certified through the National Incident Management System. He served as Board of Directors vice president of Region II for the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) and is a century member for the Boy Scouts of America. He also maintains active affiliation with the American Federation of Police, The American Legion and Disabled American Veterans, Virgin Islands Retired Police Organization (VIRPO), the American Military Association (AMA), the Air Force Association (AFA) and Carolina Preserve CERT.
