A silver lining in the U.A.E.
As reported in the U.A.E. English daily newspaper, The National, Victor Mooney of Queens, New York, plans to return the Emirati flag that was flown on his rowboat to Abu Dhabi. Today he displays the flag that he removed before being rescued.

BROOKLYN, NY, May 13, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mooney hoped to make his second attempt to row from Senegal to Brooklyn and later Djibouti to Abu Dhabi to heighten the awareness of AIDS and global warming, but his two desalination systems didn't function and he had to abort the mission last month.

Mooney's project was dedicated to the late His Highness, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nayhan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates for his goodwill and humanity worldwide. Mooney, a longtime advocate for AIDS testing, lost a brother to the disease and has another living with the virus.

The Office of Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY) are in the initial stages to support Mooney's visit. Mooney looks to arrive next week in Abu Dhabi.
