Leigh Steinberg management firm giving back and working for a greener globe
Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment is giving back and working for a greener earth.The Sporing Green Alliance will work to reduce carbon emissions from sports stadiums, making sports more green. More details will be announced at the Leigh Steinberg Super Bowl Party.
TAMPA, FL, January 31, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leigh Steinberg, who has represented the first pick of the first round of the NFL draft a record-breaking eight times and 60 overall first round picks, today announced that he will be hosting his 23rd Annual Super Bowl Party. This year's event to outdo all others, as Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment takes its annual soiree to Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. The green gala will be held between 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009.

"The Zoo is in perfect alignment with the message we are trying to communicate through The Sporting Green Alliance, as we work to green-up sports, promote sustainable technologies and provide a better environment for all species of life. The Sporting Green Alliance is our initiative to incorporate sustainable technologies into stadia and arenas around the world to reduce carbon emissions and drop energy costs, while transforming these venues into educational platforms."

To kick off the festivities, there is a press conference scheduled for 1 p.m. on the green carpet at the zoo when Steinberg and special, undisclosed, celebrity guests will make some important environmental and charitable announcements.
Steinberg has also joined forces with the U.S. Army for the first annual Stars For Stripes Global Connection, which will have Steinberg's celebrity guests communicating one-on-one via two-way videoconference with troops deployed in Iraq.
"Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for our young men and women deployed over seas," adds Steinberg. "If this small effort brings one smile to the face of just one of our soldiers, we will have scored a big, big touchdown."
The event will also feature a silent auction benefitting Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive sports and entertainment memorabilia.
